Arab American Resource Fair
Held during Arab American Heritage Month, the Arab American Resource Fair is a vibrant annual event that brings together community members, business professionals, and leaders to celebrate culture and foster connections. This event is organized in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity – Office of Minority Economic Empowerment, and the SBDC at ABPA.
The AA Resource Fair is a hub for information, offering attendees valuable insights and support on topics ranging from starting a business to engaging with elected officials. It’s a unique opportunity for the Arab American community to access vital resources, connect with leaders, and celebrate their heritage.
Each year, the event features:
- State Agencies On-Site: Representatives from various state agencies provide guests with information about the resources available to them.

The Little Palestine Project aims to transform a small region in Cook County southwest suburb, known for their vibrant Middle Eastern culture, into a premier tourist destination. By showcasing the region’s rich culinary heritage, unique fashion, and cultural experiences, the project seeks to elevate Little Palestine’s profile, attract visitors, and stimulate the local economy.

Emerging Leader Program
We are excited to introduce the newly enhanced ABPA’s Emerging Leader Program. This revitalized initiative is designed to foster leadership capabilities and spark creativity among participants, empowering them to make a meaningful difference within Arab American communities and beyond.
The program now features a structured approach where tasks are assigned to Emerging Leaders, steering them towards impactful initiatives and providing clear direction for their growth. Diversity is at the heart of our program, as we encourage applicants from varied Arab American backgrounds, emphasizing the significance of nurturing leadership qualities from an early stage. In this program, Emerging Leaders receive regular feedback and support to progress and develop throughout the 10-week duration, where a commitment of 5-10 hours per week is expected from participants to effectively fulfill their assigned tasks. If selected into the E.L program, financial compensation is awarded for selectees who complete the 10-week program. Successful completion of the program is celebrated with a certificate of achievement and special recognition at ABPA’s Annual Dinner, where the accomplishments of Emerging Leaders are honored. Outstanding participants have the opportunity for growth within the organization, potentially assuming future roles on the ABPA Board or Advisory Board, participating in exclusive meetings with top executives and officials, and further advancing their leadership journey.

Young Entrepreneurs Fair
The Young Entrepreneurship Fair is more than just an event. It celebrates young dreams and the power of possibility. Hosted by ABPA, this fair brings together a variety of booths, each run by young entrepreneurs eager to share their unique products and services, from vibrant edible fruit art, handmade jewelry, and soothing lip balms to handcrafted candles, paintings, and playful slimes.
These talented elementary and middle school students from southwest suburban school districts work hard to turn their ideas into tangible products, gaining the confidence to share them with the community. Through this experience, they’re not just pitching products but learning invaluable lessons in creativity, resilience, and responsibility. Each child will walk away with enhanced social skills, deeper business knowledge, and the pride that comes from building something all their own.

Back2School Kicks Chicago
Back 2 School Kicks, launched in 2022 by ABPA’s subsidiary group the Community Retail Association, is a transformative community-driven program dedicated to supporting underserved neighborhoods by providing students with new shoes and backpacks. In partnership with Youth Guidance, Refugee Life Foundation, and Athlete’s Foot. The initiative ensures children start the school year with confidence and equality, helping them feel valued and ready to succeed. By addressing these essential needs, the program fosters a sense of pride and belonging among students, paving the way for positive engagement in their education and social interactions.
Central to the program’s success is the collaboration of dedicated partners, volunteers, donors, and local businesses, all working together to uplift young learners and strengthen community bonds. Held annually, Back 2 School Kicks has become a celebration of giving and solidarity, serving as a powerful reminder of the impact of collective action. Alderman’s Iftar
The Chicago Alderman Iftar is an event that is proudly hosted by Community Retail Association and serves as an evening dedicated to fostering meaningful conversations and strengthening community bonds with Chicago Aldermen.
