ABPA is proud to honor Illinois Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike with the annual Excellence in Community Service Award during our 30th Anniversary Gala Saturday November 20, 2021 at Double Tree Hilton in Oak Brook. Dr. Ezike has been widely praised for her leadership within the State of Illinois to address the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the citizens of our great state.
Dr. Ezike graduated with honors from Harvard College with a concentration in chemistry before earning her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego and completed her internship and residency at Rush Medical Center where she also earned a management certificate from Harvard Business School.
She has an honorary Doctor of Community Health degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Dr. Ezike has provided inpatient care at John H. Stroger Hospital and was medical director at the Austin Health Center at Chicago’s West Side before moving to the IDPH.
